To my lovely readers (few though you may be) I write to let you know that I have successfully biked to California and dipped my tire into the Pacific Ocean. It was a rush, a slowly building climax...that upon seeing the ocean for the first time, I didn't react, it had been sitting in the back of my mind, the image of water stretching out, eclipsing the road, ending my journey. But it was a joyous moment, surrounded my fellow riders and my family who flew out to see me and get me home! (THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOO MUCH MOM, DAD, AND DAVEY! no thanks to you, jen, for ditching me in my moment of glory, for what, SR training....:p)
I would like to apologize for not being more diligent in my posts. I do have a slightly valid excuse. I didn't have a computer and for most of the trip WIFI was a ghostly memory. BUT fear not, I diligently kept flip cam video recordings of the days. I am currently figuring out how to link my videos to this blog. I found that a first person account, not necessarily in written word, best conveyed the experience. It's rough and raw footage, but then again, it was done by a 22year old woman who has no idea how to handle technology and was on the ride of her life....if the camera swerves and jumps, it's the endorphins.
Life is just too damn good.
Love to you all!
